The Tackling Indigenous Smoking Team (TIS) has been part of Dandenong and District Aborigines Co-operative Aboriginal health services since 2014. Please visit www.ddacl.org.au for more information on all the services at DDACL.
We are dedicated to preventing tobacco use in our youth, pregnant mothers and to educate the whole Aboriginal community in the Southern and Eastern Metropolitan Melbourne area through tobacco cessation and health promotion.
We also have a dedicated website for the education of Aboriginal youth about the dangers of tobacco www.wayalakagainsttobacco.com
You can book the TIS Health Promotion Stall/Workshop at your next event
We are able to host our stall inside or outside as we have a trailer and marquee, complete with tailor made health promotion props and fun and engaging games.
Our health promotion services are specifically for gatherings with a large amount of Aboriginal people in attendance.
Our services are:
- Provided free or charge
- Tailored to suit the needs of the client group or community
- Can be delivered as a one-off workshop or regular workshops
